Non-Chinese were not allowed to his classes. After Yip Man retired officially from teaching out of health reasons he still acceptet one last student - today's Grandmaster
Leung Ting as "closed-door-student" (student ot be taught after having already closed the school). The teaching that Yip Man passed on to his last student was primarily constituted by his old age style of
Wing Tsun and therefore enriched by a wealth of comprehensive knowledge and wisdom. Yip Man taught around 1000 students of whom 2 are the most recognized for the promotion of Wing Tsun: Leung Ting and the
late actor Bruce Lee.
Leung Ting´s understanding of Wing Tsun differs very much from the theories of earlier students of Yip Man.. In order to underline this conception he chose the according spelling of his own teaching system of Wing Tsun.
In Europe the fighting art of Wing Tsun took hold in the late 70's. The newly in 2006 founded association of the IUEWT under the directorate of Dai-Sifu J. Olbers constitutes his basement on a 30 years of experience in Wing Tsun after Leung Ting.
